Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment)
The aim of root canals is to save a tooth that is badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury and involves removing the nerve from the centre of the tooth. There is no substitute for your own natural teeth so if it can be saved, it is generally the best option.
Once the dying nerve is removed, a root filling is placed and a permanent filling or crown placed over the top. It usually takes 3-4 visits to complete.
